Austin is the centre of the region and the hardest place in it to buy a new home on a first-time budget. There are still new communities with an Austin address, mostly toward the edges of the city, and entry-level builders are active in them.

If staying in Austin matters more to you than square footage, start here. If the payment matters more, Bryant will show you what the same money buys one town farther out.

Builders in Austin

Bryant compares these builders for you and negotiates on your side. Tell him which ones you like and he will check what each has ready and what they are offering.

These are the builders and developments Bryant tracks in each city. A builder can stop or start selling in a city or a development at any time, and not every builder has a home on this week's sheet. Builders change their incentives often, and we update this site as often as we can, so confirm current terms with Bryant before you rely on them. Builder and community names belong to their owners, and this is not the official site of any builder.

Questions buyers ask about Austin

Where are new homes being built in Austin?

Mostly toward the edges of the city, where there is still land for communities. Inside the older neighborhoods, new construction is usually single homes on infill lots.

Which school district serves a new home in Austin?

It depends on the address. Homes with an Austin address can be in Austin ISD or in one of several neighboring districts. Confirm the district and the schools for the specific home before you rely on them.

Do new homes here carry a MUD or PID tax?

Many newer communities at the edge of Austin sit in a municipal utility district or a public improvement district, which adds to the property tax rate. Each listing shows the tax rate the builder stated where it was provided, and the estimated payment uses it.
