Taylor is a Williamson County town on US 79, east of Hutto. It kept its old downtown while the area around it changed: Samsung's semiconductor campus sits on the southwest side, and new-home communities have opened along the highway since it was announced.
For a first-time buyer it is one of the places northeast of Austin where a new home still fits a starter budget, with entry-level builders competing on closing cost credits and rate buy-downs.
